TWO NEW LEAGUES START IN MAY

Summer is the time for some more leasiurly leagues.   And we have three of them; we are sure that one of them will fit your style

LADIES LEAGUE:  By popular demand, we are starting a women’s only doubles league on alternating Thursday nights. Starts on Thursday, May 2 with 4 matches starting at 7PM.  It’s a total of 8 weeks, every other Thursday, then the playoffs on August 22nd. Sign up HERE

THE BEER LEAGUE:  This is the most relaxed league ever.  We suggest putting together a team of 3 people.  All three of you can play any week.  Or just two of you if one can’t make it.  If only one of you can make it … Fine.  You are a team of 1 that week.  You only pay for the players who play.  Plus, we will have a different craft beer for you to taste each week prior to the games.  It’s on alternating Thursdays at 7PM.  There’s a total of 7 weeks in the regular season plus the playoffs on Thursday August 29th.   Sign up HERE

All leagues are $20 per player per week.  For the duration of the league, all league members can FOWL FOR FREE during the week, so joining a league is like gettnig a Fowling Membership for the summer!!  It’s a great way to get a little excercise, make some new friends and work on your game.  We look forward to having you join us.

The 2024 AFA Qualifying League is complete and we have determined the top four teams to qualify for the AFA Championship on April 20th at the Fowling Warehouse Grand Rapids.

The top three teams from the regular season qualified automatically.

Team Name Skipper Gilligan Matchs Won Matchs Lost
1 Wine Some, Booze Some Danielle Hixson Clinton Hixson 43 7
2 The Bourbon Brothers Randy Stewart Jeff Stewart 38 12
3 Chewbonkka’s Tommy Andre Josh Daley 34 16

The fourth qualifying team was determined by the playoffs.  If any of the top three teams won the tournament, the fourth place team from the regular season qualified for the AFA Championship.  But if a team ranked lower won the tournament, they would receive the 4th seed.  Well as luck would have it, there were two lower ranked teams in the semifinal, but neither won their game so our fourth place team in the regular season Kevin Ney and Steve Bitel of Pin Ticklers (33-17) received the final bid to the AFAs.  The final was between the #1 team, Wine Some Booze Some and the #2 team The Bourbon Brothers.  It was a seven game match with the entire league watching and it came down to game 7.  Danielle Hixson knocked down her final pin, but Randy Stewart tied it on the rebuttal shot.  In overtime both teams traded misses until Randy knocked down the final pin to win the tournament.
